Thumbnails for Pantomime Animation



Today's task was to think about a story involving a phone call that could be told by a miming character. The challenge here is to tell the audience what the call is about without a dialogue. After a good few minutes of intense thinking I decide I would go for a 'love call' between a couple and so I began thumb nailing my idea, the next step would be to get feedback and hopefully start blocking the animation in Maya.

I did it... I finally turned my curves from stepped to auto. I feel like I was a bit stuck in terms of knowing when the blocking stage was over, I got a lot of feedback throughout the blocking stage and I felt that I would spend the rest of my days blocking and refining my poses but finally I got told by our studio assistant to start splinning the animation so I did. I feel like next time I have to be more aware of the time I have as this is what will determine the amount of time I have for blocking and splinning. Preparing for 1st Assignment of Year 2!

Preparing for 1st Assignment of Year 2! This week we finally met the so long waited eleven second audio that would determine our route in this assignment and I must say that the audio could have been a bit more punchier but it could have been worse... The audio's script is the following: Voice 1: Be funny if we both got it wrong, eh? If I did the good thing, and you did the bad one? (chuckles) Voice 2: (nervous laughter)… No! Wouldn’t be funny at all! It doesn't seem that bad at first and you even think it's an easy one when you first hear it but in reality it's something more complex. 11 Second Club - 3D Layout

Yes I have changed the location of my story but it is all for the good. My initial idea of having Zombie (Mamuerto) enjoying a juicy brain and then offering it to human (Franketo) hasn't changed, the thing that changed is the setting of the story. I initially had this idea of having the Mamuerto sitting by itself outside Franketo's house, now instead of having Franketo enjoying his cake in his house I decided to have it sitting on the table with Mamuerto. The reason why I change the setting was because I wanted to make the story a bit more simple in terms of composition and also the idea of a zombie having a nice cozy dinner with a human I believe is strange and fun. Above you will see the first stage of my animation in a 3D space, this is called a 3D layout which serves as a foundation for the characters interaction with the environment.
