11 Second Club October - Final Animation

Exquisite Dinner

I am happy to say that I finally have it, here it is, the product of 3 weeks of hard work have resulted in this 11 second animation. Even though there are multiple things wrong with the animation I am very happy with the result as this is the beginning of something big and I can't wait to see what I will be able to do with more experience. The rendering stage wasn't as painful as it could have been but it still made me sweat.

When rendering I surprisingly didn't find much errors with Mamuerto however with Franketo it was a whole different story. When I started preparing Franketo for rendering I noticed that his pupils were not very big and I didn't find it appealing so I decided to work on the geometry to make them a bit bigger, what a mistake. One of the eyes started acting funny by deforming in a very irritating way:

Thankfully I found the solution by referencing the rig again every time I opened my scene but I was a bit of chance situation because sometime referencing the rig again wouldn't work...

What I personally found funny was that Malcolm's rig didn't give me such a hard time and I modified him a lot more. As you might have noticed Malcolm doesn't come with a zombie costume or textures and this was crucial for my story so I decided to turn him into a zombie myself.

Thanks to the first year Game Art and 3DVFX modules at Escape I know how to work with UVs and texture using Maya and Photoshop. This image shows the zombie texture I made for Malcolm using Procreate, I would have done it in Photoshop but I prefer seeing where I am painting directly.
